Lucha Underground remains one of the most beloved companies in wrestling history with good reason. The unique presentation and galaxy of stars that LU produced have seen its reputation grow even more over time, with The Lucha Bros, Penta and Rey Fenix, Chelsea Green, Ricochet, Swerve Strickland and many more getting some of their biggest breaks from that promotion.

One of the biggest and most promising names in LU was that of Sexy Star. Star was the first female Gift of the Gods Champion and the first female Lucha Underground Champion who also built a reputation in AAA, but everything changed overnight due to an in-ring incident at AAA TripleMania XXV in 2017.

In a Fatal Four-Way Match for the Reina de Reinas Championship, Star slapped a shoot armbar on TNA's Rosemary, popping her arm out of place and causing legitimate injury. Further problems stemmed from Star trying to brush it off as an accident, as was vehemently disputed by Rosemary in a lengthy social media post and confirmed by other workers in the business. With high-profile wrestlers like Cody Rhodes and Road Dogg calling for her to be blacklisted, Star's career was ended immediately due to this incident.
