7 Worst Matches In WWE Battleground History

1. Adam Rose Vs. Fandango (2014)

Completing the set of Kickoff matches featured on this list, Adam Rose vs. Fandango was a poor choice with which to open up Battleground 2014 for the live audience. Rose and Fandango both came across as heelish, unlikeable characters, leaving their issue laying somewhere between apathy and surefire disaster.

Battling over the affections of Summer Rae and Layla, Rose and his dancing compatriot were only handed around two minutes on the show. Not only was that not long enough, it just didn't get the crowd going. Surely that's the entire purpose of those pre-show matches, to get people excited about what's coming up later in the show.

To date, this match is the worst to take place under the Battleground banner. There's absolutely nothing positive to say about it, other than the fact it was over quickly.

It's tough to blame the performers for this, they were simply handed meagre pickings to work with from a storyline point of view, and then were handed just 120 seconds of ring time when push came to the shove.
