7 Worst Wrestling Moments Of The Week (July 16)

4. Just Make It Stop!!!

Barack Obama was president when Miz and Dean Ambrose began feuding. It feels like it’s been going on since George Bush. The first one. Maybe it predates Lou Thesz vs. Buddy Rogers. Basically, it needs to die and never come back. Even in 2028, these guys shouldn’t lock up. It would be way too soon.

Nearly as tiring as seeing Miz and Ambrose throw down is the weekly “have Miz kill 20 minutes of TV time, because our show is way too damn long” crutch. Again, he’s continuing to do great work, but he’s currently the new go-to overexposed heel who becomes the workhorse of the company, like Seth Rollins when he was in The Authority, or CM Punk before him. It would be nice for the creative team to think outside the box a little and not rely on throwing out a bunch of tag matches and Miz TV on a weekly basis.

Maybe they did think they were switching things up this week when they delivered "The Mizzies." Besides one amusing "You deserve it!" chant for Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel winning their award, it all felt so pointless, as it was only conceived to further Miz/Ambrose. Seth Rollins got involved, which lead to a tease of a Shield reunion...so what does that mean? Dallas and Axel are the ones who are so dangerous that The Shield must reform?

While doing another Superstar Shakeup would be incredibly stupid to do right now, it may be worth it just to get Miz and Ambrose away from each other for good.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
