7 Worst Wrestling Moments Of The Week (March 12)
6. Nice And Calm Seth
On Raw, Triple H gloated about the world class medical facilities of WWE (a mild shot at CM Punk's claims to the contrary while they were in Chicago?), and threw out one of WWE's biggest lies ever when he said he didn’t give himself his own nicknames (he’s likely working on 12 more for himself at this moment. “The Emperor of Earth.” “The Grandmaster of Sexay.” “Sir Oliver Hunterdink”). The point being, he was a dick in his promo. He’s a heel, though, so that works. The babyface in this situation didn't quite do his job.
Last week Seth Rollins started out with a promo which consisted of him being majorly bummed out about his knee. Then Hunter came out, and Seth became pissed off. This week he went back to nice guy mode, which was a bizarre contrast in tone. Rollins needed to show fire. He needed to keep vowing to return and destroy his boss, but instead he politely informed us “Therapy here is a full-time job...I’ve got nothing else to do but rehab and work and be at WrestleMania.” Is this a wrestling angle or a corporate video? Where’s the anger at Triple H or Samoa Joe for putting him out of action?
Whatever heat there was going for this program (which really wasn’t much), they just lost some more of it with such a subdued approach.
