7 Worst Wrestling Moments Of The Week (March 12)
5. Randy Wastes Everyone’s Time
You listen up Randy, you owe me a good...I dunno...three...hours of my life back?
Well, The Viper is going to Mania, which still seems as lackluster as it did when he first won the Rumble. To set up his match, Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan took 10 minutes to tell us Orton and A.J. Styles were going to wrestle on SmackDown. A four second graphic would have sufficed.
Besides that, Bryan looked like a dolt. Orton GAVE UP his opportunity to main event Mania, so he could skip work and go burn a corpse. Not only is that prison time in 50 states, but there’s no “take backs” in wrestling...or so I thought. Can Shawn Michaels show up next week, and say he didn't actually mean to forfeit the WWF Title in 1997 and become champ again?
Orton screwed up, and he should have to own in. But Bryan tried to go off “tradition” for his argument. Ah yes, tradition. The person who wins the Royal Rumble MUST ALWAYS go to WrestleMania. He's right...except when Vince McMahon won and gave it up.
It’s going to be hard to get invested in Styles vs. Shane, because I’m completely on A.J.’s side. A few weeks ago he clearly won that battle royal, then he had his big moment taken away, because Orton was just joshing around. Plus, Luke Harper also looks like a fool for fighting in a match, where even if he won it would have been stricken from the record.
This angle is dragging down the show, and it’s making it hard to care about their upcoming title match, no matter how many dead bodies they desecrate before Mania.
