You can't tell me Sting wasn't the first person you thought of when that mysterious 2-21-11 promo aired on Raw in late January 2011. Everything about it screamed Sting, especially considering he was a free agent at the time and had finished up with Impact Wrestling a few months earlier.

As time passed, it became more and more evident the vignettes were meant for The Undertaker, which was confirmed to be true on the Feb. 21 edition of Raw when he ultimately resurfaced. However, were they intended for 'Taker the entire time? The answer is no.

Sting has revealed in past interviews that he was contacted by WWE to come into the company for a 'Mania match with Undertaker in 2011, and although he was close to signing, he turned down the offer and instead returned to TNA. Longtime fans had been so close to witnessing a dream match becoming a reality, yet so far.

It's hard to complain, though, when Undertaker vs. Triple H at WrestleMania 27 turned out to be as good as it was (along with its sequel).
