7 Wrestlers WWE Unsuccessfully Tried To Sign In 2015

1. Kurt Angle

Former WWE Champion Kurt Angle re-signed with TNA Wrestling on a one year deal that will expire in January 2016, following their tour of the UK. He claims to have had talks with WWE, but that they didn't go anywhere because they only wanted him to come back on a full-time deal. (It should be noted that Angle's negotiating period was over a year ago and this article is for this year, but if he signed with WWE it would have been to perform for them in 2015, so we're going to be flexible with the title in this case). Angle has said that if WWE offered him a part-time deal similar to what Shawn Michaels had in his 40s when he would appear on Raw as well as PPVs then he would have likely come back to WWE, having enjoyed incredible success there between 1999 and 2006. He claimed that he called up Vince McMahon to talk about coming back, but was then told to talk about it with Triple H, since he's in charge of Talent Relations. There is some belief that perhaps Triple H was mad that Angle didn't talk to him in the first place and that's part of the reason why a deal was never agreed. Angle thinks that Triple H purposefully offered him the full-time deal because he knew there was no way that Angle would talk it. There are also concerns about Angle's well-documented injury woes and whether he would even pass a WWE physical. WWE may have brought Angle back if he agreed to their terms. It's smart for Angle to say no because he's in his mid-40s and has dealt with a lot of injuries in his time. Plus, he's financially set and has the potential to work for other companies (as his recent Bellator commentary gig confirms). Maybe one day he will be back in WWE, but it won't be in 2015.
