7 Wrestling Grudges That NEVER Really Ended
5. Vince Russo and Jim Cornette
This rivalry could have an entire list of its own. Two men at total odds with one another on every conceivable level, New Yorker Vince Russo and wrestling royalty Jim Cornette go together like bread and concrete. Forced to work together as part of Vince McMahon's creative team in the Attitude Era, these are two men with completely different principles who were completely incompatible from the start.
Vince Russo had worked his way up from running WWE Magazine to being part of the decision making for Monday Night Raw and, eventually, SmackDown. He was a big proponent of the car crash TV of the time, citing the brawling chaos on the Jerry Springer show and the toilet humor of South Park as his key influences. Cornette is a wrestling booker who believes in the sanctity of the wrestling business.
The two's relationship started in the gutter and has descended below sea level. Russo pretends to be unbothered by Cornette, while Jim revels in despising his "big city" counterpart. Cornette insists he will be alive to "piss on Vince Russo's grave" and will say as much in every interview he can. Their isn't a word strong enough to describe the dislike these two opposites have for one another.
