7 WWE Couples That Should Have Been

3. The Miz & Maryse

They say everyone€™s journey to the top is unique, and that€™s definitely true for The Miz. He made his name on MTV€™s The Real World where he created the character of €œThe Miz€ from there he went became the host of Friday Night SmackDown and then the host of Diva Search. He wrestled sporadically on SmackDown before being drafted to ECW. It was there he really developed himself alongside his tag partner, and after two years he was drafted to Raw and after picking up the Tag Team Championship and the United States Championship, he won the WWE Championship in late-2010. The Miz and Maryse met back during the Divas search days, but they never interacted much on screen. Every time they did, it always seemed like a wink and a nod to the fans that knew their true relationship, but WWE really missed a trick not putting the couple on screen. For a time, The Miz was the most hated man in wrestling, so having the most gorgeous woman on the roster by his side would have only intensified the hate he received from the fans, especially the ones that knew they were truly together. Maryse left WWE in October 2012, and she left as a former two-time WWE Divas Champion. Since her departure, WWE have freely acknowledged the two are a couple, with The Miz even mentioning it in promos and on commentary to garner heat from the fans. Maryse could still come back and two pair could live up to their potential as an on-screen couple, but it doesn€™t seem likely any time soon.
