7 WWE Hell In A Cell 2021 Impulse Reactions

6. Bianca Belair (c) Vs. Bayley

It may have escaped your attention that Bayley's been doing an awful lot of laughing lately.

In case you somehow missed the memo that the 'Role Model' was using her intentionally insufferable cackle to get in the head of Bianca Belair (or however Michael Cole phrased it from his big book of WWE clichés), don't worry; 'The EST' did too.

Luckily, all of that f*cking nonsense was as pointless to watch as it was for the performers to go through when this was promoted to titular stipulation status when WWE spaffed away the main event in the go-home SmackDown. Whatever match Belair and Bayley might have given thought to suddenly had to be worthy of a Hell In A Cell brawl, and the two spent most of the match chasing a high that just about materialised by the end.

Bayley showed tremendous veteran flair in this one, selling so much of the battle in order to make Belair look awesome when she inevitably powered through. The theme carried through to the finish after the 'EST' missed a 450 and still pulled herself together enough to mangle her challenger against a ladder.

This was all good and occasionally great - it's a shame with Belair especially that the weekly stories don't come close to meeting the quality of the big in-ring payoffs.
