7 WWE Hell In A Cell 2021 Impulse Reactions

5. Cesaro Vs. Seth Rollins

At WrestleMania, Cesaro felt like a genuine main eventer for the first time since 2014 by virtue of his victory over Seth Rollins.

A decent feud was elevated immensely by a live audience that were thirsty for the sort of hybrid classic the pair were capable of producing, as well as the 'Swiss Superman's awesome (and awesomely-timed) deployment of the UFO. Without the advantage of (real) noise this time around, they had to get another battle over by force of will and quality of work.

They were managing it too before Seth Rollins went all local theatre group, chatting sh*t as if he didn't remember the consequences. When he did get banged, the match drew from real drama instead of the "what do I have to do to beat him" melodrama being enforced upon the story by the commentators. And then absolutely destroyed all of that with a p*ss poor finish.

Playing a rather convincing take-no-sh*ts version of himself for the closing salvo, Cesaro switched from massive swing to Sharpshooter to crossface and back to the Sharpshooter before violently attempting to break his opponent's arm. Rollins then proceeded to no-sell that entirely and wrap him up for a victory presented as stolen rather than earned through a skilful wrestling move.

"Follow that" said Bradshaw, as the pre-show panel filled time before the next match.

"Okay absolutely no bother whatsoever" said Alexa Bliss, Shayna Baszler, probably. Or Lilly, if she was looking on...
