8 Awful Lessons WWE Programming Has Taught Fans

6. Fat People Are Not Normal People

The Divas in the WWE are described as €œsexy, smart, and powerful.€ Three words that are so subjective that they may as well mean nothing at all. What qualifies them as smart? Are they powerful because they have a lot of muscle or do they have a lot of influence over others? What kind of beauty do these women possess? Inside or outside? Here€™s the answer in case you€™re wondering: They€™re women of any intelligence at all, powerful in that they have the bare minimum of muscle, and their beauty is purely on the outside. Kharma entered the WWE as someone who wanted to destroy the Barbie dolls. The implication being that Kharma, a woman of plus size, wanted to beat up all the Barbie doll divas, or women of skinny size. The moment she finally came out to the ring all the divas cowered in fear despite the fact that they had no indication she was a good wrestler or intimidating at all. They just knew that she was scary because she was huge, and huge people cannot be good people. Think this is an isolated event? Look at Rikishi. One of his signature moves was the Stink Face, a move so disgusting that it made the crowd both groan but also erupt with laughter. The idea of a fat guy putting his backside in someone€™s face? Now that€™s comedy. On the other side of the coin, when Torrie Wilson adopted the same move, it stopped being funny and started being sexy. You know, because she€™s not fat. When Tensai and Brodus Clay danced to music it was funny. When R-Truth does it, it€™s cool. See the pattern?
