The main event of WrestleMania 31 saw the big bully Brock Lesnar come up against the unpopular warrior in Roman Reigns with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line. Having held the title on a part time basis since SummerSlam, fans were growing restless over Lesnar’s reign. Unfortunately for them, those same fans were also on the “I hate Roman Reigns” bandwagon that really took off at the 2015 Royal Rumble. So when the time came for the Main Event, many people in attendance didn’t know what else to do except boo.

The expectations for this match were in hindsight, far too low. As usual, it took very little time for Lesnar to start bleeding and as usual, the opening minute of the match featured a flurry of offence from “The Beast”. With the crowd firmly against Reigns, it only took one punch for the crowd to erupt. Despite this, Lesnar remained in control for the majority of the match. Reigns’ eventual comeback was met with resounding boos from the emotionally invested crowd, and when Lesnar countered a third spear into a fourth F-5 Michael Cole wasn’t the only one asking “who can capitalize?!” Enter Seth Rollins...

You can guarantee the 90 seconds from Seth Rollins’ music hitting to when the referee raised his hand is a blur for “The Architect”. For those watching, by the time you realised what was happening, the match was already over and Seth Rollins had stolen the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. It didn’t matter that he was a heel, as this was one of the moments that reminded you why you love professional wrestling. Like the Lesnar vs. Reigns match, the short-lived Triple Threat was a rollercoaster, as each competitor looked like winning it at some point.
