8 Best Bromances In MMA History
1. Daniel Cormier And Luke Rockhold
Being the only fighter to feature twice on this list shouldn't be a surprise in the case of Daniel Cormier, who is almost universally considered to be one of the nicest guys in the sport. DC's relationship with teammate Luke Rockhold dates back to when the pair competed together in Strikeforce with Rockhold capturing gold at middleweight and a then-unknown Cormier winning the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix.
A particularly hilarious highlight of the two together came during Rockhold's appearance on the talk show UFC Tonight, which Cormier co-anchored with Kenny Florian. Just as the segment featuring the former UFC Middleweight Champion came to an end, Cormier looked at Rockhold and told him that he loves him. A clearly bemused Rockhold didn't reciprocate Cormier's comments but instead tells DC that he is his man.
It seems that if you take out the rigorous training and sparring sessions with some of the world's best fighters AKA is just a big bunch of guys hanging out and having a good time. Add to that the loyalty that Cain Velasquez, Nurmagomedov, Rockhold, and Cormier have shown to each other and it's clear that the fighters of the American Kickboxing Academy are akin to a family, with Cormier teasing his teammates with dad-jokes aplenty.
