8 Cross-Promotion Wrestling Dream Matches We Will Never See

Technically, it's a fallacy even to call this match cross-promotion, as CM Punk isn't affiliated with any wrestling company right now.

WWE has certainly seen its fair share of less than amicable departures, but Punk's attempts to burn every bridge on his way out have become legendary. Although WWE may have been his target, it was the wrestling industry itself that he seemed keen to wash his hands of.

Punk and Okada's clash of styles would be excellent, as Punk's storytelling and unique move-set would both contrast and synchronise with Okada's legendary pacing and attention to detail. The encounter they'd have would be one for the ages, provided Punk didn't suffer from too much ring rust.

But therein lies the impossibility, as the Straight Edge superstar will probably never step into a ring again, and even if he did, the likelihood of a promoter being able to pair him up with Okada is completely unknown.
