8 Def Rebel WWE Themes That That AREN’T Complete Garbage

2. Roman Reigns

A sequel to the superior "Head Of The Table" theme that at long last pulled Roman Reigns away from the trappings of The Shield once and for all (and some six years after the group first separated), the former WWE Champion's current number is still an excellent bit of business even if it suffers a little from subtraction by addition.

The grandiose pre-amble is longer than ever, forcing either fans or the man himself to wait a sometimes-awkward amount of time before things kick into gear. Otherwise, the rebadged "I Am Greatness" lives up to its name - ginormous drums and dramatic operatic vocals cover the bulk of the song's entire first minute before a Marvel-esque movie trailer stopdown reintroduces the familiar refrain from the original, elevated in size and scale by use of strings over keys.

Perhaps due to Reigns' own selective schedule keeping it relatively fresh compared to some of the half-baked songs given to the rank-and-file, it's still a very welcome presence on the shows. The simple-but-effective tune in the theme was Def Rebel mining the Jim Johnston/Jimmy Hart method of liberally borrowing and tweaking something that already existed. The Succession theme inspired the in-house trio when Reigns went from 'Big Dog' to 'Tribal Chief', and was popular enough in wrestling spaces that The Young Bucks' 2024 retooling came with entrance music blatantly inspired by the hit show. In Roman's case, the song hasn't lost any power even if the man himself has now spent well over a year off the throne.
