Eddie Guerrero debut WWE match injury

Avatar (Al Snow dressed as some sort of colourful ninja man), was WWE's attempt to rip-off the ultra-successful Hayabusa, who was then making waves in Japanese promotions FMW and New Japan. The character made his debut on the October 23rd, 1995 episode of Raw.

Things start oddly enough, with Snow coming to the ring no wearing the mask and then putting it on to wrestle. How novel. Anyway, Avatar's opponent that night was enhancement guy/jobber Brian Walsh, and the match was designed to get over the new character and make a strong first impression.

That didn't happen. Snow was clearly uncomfortable wrestling under the mask, so much so that Vince McMahon even referenced how uncomfortable doing so might be on commentary, as a way of excusing the early sloppiness. Walsh certainly doesn't help things, brushing off Avatar's offense and nipping up.

Way to get your heat back, job boy!

Things get worse from there, with Avatar going for a dive off the top rope, only to slip and fall backwards, instead having to settle for a slingshot crossbody. Once back inside the ring they stumble through the rest of a short match, before Avatar finishes him off with a weird-looking standing moonsault/splash combination to complete indifference.
