The wrestling world was abuzz in January 2000 with news that wantaway WCW stars Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn had signed with the WWF. The hope was that the talented but under-utilised foursome would now get a fair shake of things in Vince McMahon's land of opportunity.

A few days after attacking The New Age Outlaws on Raw, the newly-dubbed Radicalz would have the chance to win WWE contracts, if they could win two out of three matches against members of DX. Malenko fell to X-Pac early on the show and Chris Benoit did the honours for Triple H in the main event, but it was the middle match that proved to be most newsworthy.

Saturn and Guerrero fought the Outlaws in the duo's first ever WWE match. Regrettably, after five minutes of so-so action, Guerrero injured himself performing his Frog Splash finisher, gruesomely dislocating his elbow. Latino Heat looked noticeably panicked and the finish appeared to be rushed.

Guerrero was actually most worried about his job security, fearing the sack if WWE felt he was a liability. Of course, the company kept him around while he convalesced for a month or so, but it was not exactly a great debut for the ultra-talented performer.
