8 Dream Fights For Jon Jones As A UFC Heavyweight

2. Cain Velasquez

If there was one more fight for Cain Velasquez as a mixed martial artist, imagine the carnage if it was a clash with Jon Jones. In a battle between a pair of striking sensations, this matchup could see one of the best stand-up displays on this list. With numerous highlight knockouts over the likes of Travis Browne, Junior Dos Santos and Brock Lesnar, the former two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion always seemed a big win or two away from establishing himself as the true heavyweight great. If there was one victory that would accomplish that and more, it would be over the division's newcomer Jones.

Giving his recent work for Mexican Lucha Libre promotion AAA (wow, doesn't he still move fast?) and WWE, Velasquez clearly still has the agility and strength to be a serious player in the UFC, even if just for one super fight with the man leading the charge to be the greatest of all time.

In a similar way to Dominick Reyes, Velasquez could offer a troubling style to Jones, looking to swarm the Rochester-native and offer little room for Jones to move. If he could successfully manage this, which would be hard given Jones' incredible speed, footwork and movement, Velasquez could render Jones' most dangerous weapons (his legs) fairly futile. Of course this is simply conjecture: Jones is undoubtedly one of the best ever so it's unlikely he would let Velasquez manipulate his style in that way, but it's fun to imagine...
