8 Epic Wrestling Matches That Would Be Better If They Happened Now
2. AJ Styles Vs. Kurt Angle
AJ Styles and Kurt Angle have probably had more matches against one another than any other combination of wrestlers on the list. Angle's signing in 2006 was the biggest feat TNA ever pulled off, and even though his first feud was against Samoa Joe, it was inevitable that he and Styles - TNA's ace - would eventually face off.
They ended up wrestling several times over the years - sometimes Angle was the face and Styles was the heel, and sometimes it was the other way around. From 2007 to 2013, they battled in 38 one-on-one matches.
As good as AJ Styles was in TNA, though, he was even better in New Japan. Once he headed to NJPW, he proved that he was the greatest wrestler in the world and rewrote his legacy. While he hasn't always been able to put on the same kinds of matches in WWE, the opportunities he's gotten have shown that he hasn't lost a step.
Unfortunately, this one seems impossible now. Angle has just one more WWE match left in him - and it's unlikely to be opposite Styles, whose tentatively penned in for Randy Orton come WrestleMania 35.
