It's possible that Cody Rhodes was simply dressed as his 'American Nightmare' logo. Well, he was, but Cody's WrestleMania outfit might just be a nod towards other things too. It was eerily similar to the 'skull king' look Triple H sported for several of WWE's biggest show(s) of the year during his own ultra-successful in-ring career.

Later, Cody invited Trips into the ring and thanked him for everything. That was akin to a passing of the torch moment which also squashed old beef stretching back to Rhodes' AEW run. Remember he smashed up that Triple H-ish throne on All Elite pay-per-view years ago?

There's a new 'King Of Kings' in WWE, and a brand new Undisputed Champion into the bargain. Cody said it himself at the tail end of 'Mania. WWE has entered a new era, one led by someone he used to be sort of frosty with: 'The Game'.
