This has a weird feel to it. Deonna Purrazzo is on the run of her career, deep into her second run as Knockouts Champion. Tenille Dashwood, meanwhile, has done f*ck all in her IMPACT career. An enjoyable title conquest vs. Taya Valkyrie at the 2019 Bound For Glory pay-per-view is as good as she's had it.

Her victory in Hardcore Justice's number one contender's bout was a genuine surprise. Surely, IMPACT fans thought, they aren't going with Tenille for an important pay-per-view title showdown. That's no jab at Tenille either, by the way; she simply hasn't been booked to deserve such an opportunity.

Purrazzo deserves immense praise for making every situation work. Her recent title programme with the now-retired Jazz wasn't all that great, and neither was the match; they were both carried to greatness through association with 'The Virtuosa'. Again, this is not a moment to be derogatory towards Jazz; she just doesn't have much left in the tank.

Needless to say, Deonna must retain at Rebellion, ideally with Taylor Wilde confronting her either post-match or on next Thursday's episode of IMPACT Wrestling. That in itself would be a superb story capable of removing the dire story arc that has been Deonna vs. Tenille.
