8 HUGE WWE Elimination Chamber 2022 Predictions You Need To Know

Championship matches, WrestleMania ramifications, and yet more difficult discussions. Must be Saudi.

It's that time of year again.

Time again to talk about a wrestling show and instantly become complicit in another cynically successful sportswashing project just for having a hobby.

Newcastle United fans are strange creatures that should be approached with caution, but they don't deserve the enormously difficult ethical circumstances that have befallen them since being bankrolled by the Saudi Arabian Sports Authority. Nor should WWE fans for wanting to keep up with storylines ahead of the biggest show of the year. And herein lies the latest shrewd move on the part of the billionaires controlling all of our lives - Elimination Chamber matters.

The last time a Saudi Arabia supershow was a speed bump on a typically chaotic Road To WrestleMania, Undertaker won a trophy that looked like frozen p*ss and WWE destroyed The Fiend just for the fun of it. Yes, these had theoretical 'Show Of Shows' implications, but both events were so absurd that they were still received comedically rather than canonically.

WWE will not permit that this year. Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns are locked and loaded for WrestleMania, but it's a case of just how many belts will be at stake in the contest itself. Elimination Chamber should confirm that.

And...

8. Rey Mysterio Vs. The Miz

Not a lot of meat on this one in truth, though that could be applied to most of WWE's midcard so the veterans will likely be glad that they got a hefty payday out of their run-of-the-mill Monday Night Raw angle.

With respect to the perennially awesome Rey Mysterio, the most interesting (and remotely likely) event in his WWE life at present is his son kicking the sh*t out of him at some point or another. The Miz hasn't exactly driven a wedge between them, but he's made fairly light work of having their number in their exchanges so far.

It's angles like this that desensitise so many to WWE's regular content churn. Both Miz and Maryse were humbled and humiliated by Edge and Beth Phoenix at the Royal Rumble, and though the company has at very least not needlessly gone back to the well again, the 'It Couple' have no-sold it to such a point that it may well have never happened. As is the case here, unless Dominik ever actually loses his patience with his beloved Da.

Eh, there's got to be a catalyst sooner or later.

Winner - The Miz
