Though WrestleMania was only April, it's felt a long, long time since Sasha Banks was in contention for the Raw Women's Title, and since that time, the entire landscape of the division has rapidly shifted.

At the 'Show of Shows', Banks battled Bayley, Charlotte and Nia Jax in a half-decent midcard scrap, but only Jax remains remotely near where she was at that point. Bayley's slide has been one of the most catastrophic stories of the year, while Charlotte now holds together the SmackDown Live! women's division as domineering babyface.

The chaotic nature of the booking on Raw has left such a void on the babyface side that only Nia remains as a viable SummerSlam contender for the Champion, with Bliss working hard to keep her at arm's length in the meantime. With the entire division cut adrift, 'The Boss' looks merely to be a bridge to Alexa and Nia's eventual communication breakdown, but the two former NXT stars will hopefully work to over-deliver on relatively low expectations.

Forgotten by the creative team in recent months, it's also easy to ignore that Sasha remains one of the best wrestlers on WWE's roster, and proffering those skills even in defeat may remind management what they have just in time for the two year anniversary of her legendary Brooklyn clash with Bayley.
