8 HUGE WWE NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day Predictions You Need To Know

NXT have, without even trying, provided a title shot after a said challenger ate a loss and then failed to do anything more to pad out the programme to the point where it becomes an actual feud.

This isn't wilful ignorance on your writer's part. Quite the opposite in fact - tuning in every pandemic Wednesday hoping for more than just stern-faced aspiration has been an exercise in futility, but unlike every other aspect of lockdown the exercise has actually been done.

That they've done it at all is tragically in keeping with a noted complaint about the black-and-gold brand. That they've done it twice on one card is absolutely criminal.

Toni Storm and Mercedes Martinez are in this match because they both targeted each other and Shirai following a defeat. NXT has failed to sell anything other than the same happening again Sunday. Expect the heels to clash and the 'Genius Of The Sky' to take full advantage in what should be another total banger from a Champion that's never been given the storyline attention her glittering reign has deserved.

Winner - Io Shirai
