8 Implications Of Brock Lesnar Returning To UFC

6. The Chance To Build A New WWE Star

Old school booking logic dictates that when a star leaves the territory, he puts the next guy over. The promotion will take everything the departee has and transfer it to another wrestler on their way out, mitigating the damage of their decision to leave, and ideally filling their spot.

WWE have done a poor job of building new stars over the past few years, but if Lesnar goes, they’ll have the opportunity to do so. ‘The Beast Incarnate’ is the most credible wrestler in the company: beating him should be considered a massive deal, and, if played right, WWE could use it to create their next big star.

Perhaps they’d have him fall to the surging Samoa Joe and have the former NXT Champion directly inherit Brock’s old role, or maybe they’d use his heat to mint a hot new babyface like Jason Jordan. Either way, there are plenty of exciting options, though Lesnar putting Roman Reigns over is the most likely outcome.

Few would tolerate faux babyface Reigns conquering ‘The Beast,’ but since when has Vince McMahon been one to listen to public opinion? Given Roman’s popularity problems, this would be a big misuse of Brock’s last stand, and a missed opportunity for the Joes and Jordans of the world.
