8 Japanese Stars WWE Should Sign
7. Mayu Iwatani
When joshi's biggest star Kana signed with NXT, it sent waves through the wrestling industry.
Renowned in Japan for her hard hitting style, Kana (now Asuka) was considered one of the best wrestlers, male or female, on the planet, and it's safe to say that Asuka - currently the reigning NXT women's champion - has lived up to the hype.
With Asuka's stiff style caturing the imagination of U.S. fans then, it was no great surprise when rumours began to circulate about some of her joshi peers potentially joining her in Florida.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer recently described Mayu Iwatani and her Stardom peers Io Shirai and Kairi Hojo as "three of the best wrestlers in the world," and one look at their in ring output in the last couple of years will tell you why.
Just check out Iwatani's battles with Io Shirai for a taste of what she's about. If you thought Asuka's kicks were hard to watch though, you might be in for a bit of a shock.
The most badass person to ever wear a princess dress to the ring? I think so.
