8 Key Victories In 2019 That WWE Never Followed Up On

2. Drew McIntyre Beats Seth Rollins (Raw, March 18)

To WWE's credit, Drew McIntyre was handled exceptionally well for his first year on the main roster.

He went undefeated in singles competition for almost eight months, briefly held the Raw Tag Team Championship with Dolph Ziggler, and even defeated Kurt Angle in dominant fashion in the main event of Raw last November. He also beat Dean Ambrose multiple times on the road to WrestleMania 35 as well as Seth Rollins, who obviously went on to become Universal champion at the event.

Logically, McIntyre should have come out on Raw the next night to challenge Rollins to an impromptu match for the Universal title, but he was actually not featured on that episode at all. He continued to feud with Roman Reigns in the months that followed and lost every time. His win over Rollins from March was never acknowledged throughout Rollins' entire reign as Universal champion.

McIntyre would have been the perfect opponent for Rollins this past summer, but WWE settled for Baron Corbin in that role instead and the matches were far from stellar. His alliance with Shane McMahon was a real setback for The Scottish Psychopath, so once he returns to the ring, here's hoping it's in the world championship picture on either Raw or SmackDown.
