5. Dolph Ends His Nightmare Run
The WWE creative team doesn't really do mercy, but if they did, they'd probably give some serious thought to capping off Dolph Ziggler's nightmare year with a United States Championship victory at Clash of Champions.
That aside, Sunday's US Title match really has no business being a triple threat. A straight singles bout between uber-heel Baron Corbin and one of the most over guys on the SmackDown roster in Bobby Roode seems to make sense all by itself.
So, why is Ziggler there if not to capture the belt? We haven't heard anything about one of the other competitors being injured (and in some way unable to put in a full 50/50 shift), and there are a dozen other ways for the Lone Wolf retain without having Roode suffer a clean loss.
There's a chance - that's all we're saying. Ziggler fans haven't had much to shout about since his IC Title feud with The Miz more than 12 months ago; surely they have to throw us a bone sooner or later.
