Bayley’s omission from the WWE Draft was as surprising as it was disappointing. The former NXT Women’s Champion has been one of Full Sail University’s top performers for years, and after enjoying a long, successful run as champion, she has nothing more to prove in developmental. It seemed all-but-certain that she’d feature as one of NXT’s six Draft picks on Tuesday night, but WWE preferred Carmella, Nia Jax, and Alexa Bliss, and Bayley stayed in Orlando.

Multiple outlets are now suggesting that despite her Draft snub, Bayley could still debut this weekend. Sasha Banks is still looking for a tag team partner to take-on Charlotte and Dana Brooke, and while Nia Jax and Naomi have both been speculated, neither would generate a reaction like Bayley.

Universally admired among the NXT faithful, Bayley has locked horns with Banks on multiple occasions, and The Boss even went as far as to outright dismiss the Battleground speculation last week. Such statements mean very little in WWE, however, and given her prior interactions with both Banks and Charlotte, Bayley is a natural choice and a great fit.
