8 Major Ramifications Of Roman Reigns' WWE Suspension
6. How To Write Him Out

In the past, when a wrestler failed a Wellness Policy test they usually just disappeared for awhile, and then came back with little fanfare. But Roman is in a very high-profile position. He should theoretically have a big match to promote on TV over the next month. A whole set of matches and interviews were planned for his near-term future, and that's no longer in the cards.
WWE could have avoided a bit of trouble by running an injury angle on Raw to explain his disappearance, but they chose not to. Now, everyone is waiting to see how they’ll handle this. It's only building up anticipation.
They could still try to say Roman was attacked backstage, or at his house, or at the community pool or something, but no one is going to buy it. They could be honest and say he was suspended, but that’s going to look bad, especially for his fanbase, which is composed of a lot of children. Right now, there isn't a great choice that isn't going to hurt his perception for the near-term future.
