On the surface, CM Punk and Chris Jericho seem like they would be kindred spirits. They're both passionate music fans with an obsessive interest in succeeding in their chosen field; obsessive wrestling fans who take their own careers very seriously. And while they may have been close for a time, that hasn't always been the case and likely isn't now. On an episode of Talk is Jericho, Chris and Edge described an incident at a house show several years ago. Edge and John Morrison were facing Jericho and Punk in a tag bout. The Canadians were more interested in a hockey game that was taking place that night and were rushing through preparations for the bout. Punk didn't take kindly to their nonchalant attitude about calling it in the ring, so in protest he worked the entire match while refusing to tag Y2J in. When they arrived backstage post-match Jericho let CM Punk have it in a heated exchange. The two patched things up and went on to work a successful program a few years after. In November of 2014 after CM Punk walked out of WWE, the Straight Edge Superstar said that even though Jericho had reached out to him they haven't spoken since his departure, accusing Jericho of wanting to use their private conversation as a promotional tool for Talk is Jericho and saying that Chris had an "agenda."
