Despite being the last superstar picked in the 2016 WWE draft, Carmella seemed to arrive on the main roster with a lot of confidence and a determination to make good on her opportunity.
Carmella was a surprise choice for SmackDown Live when she was promoted to the main roster. She didn't have a particularly significant run in NXT and was mainly seen as the third wheel to Enzo & Cass. Therefore, many expected her to stay in Florida for a little while longer to develop her skills.
But you have to give credit where it is due. Carmella has impressed since joining SmackDown Live, particularly on the mic, and has not looked out of place amongst the likes of Becky Lynch and Natalya.
An association with James Ellsworth allowed her to showcase her personality, while also garnering her plenty of heat from the large portion of fans that are sick and tired of Ellsworth.
Carmella was rewarded for her work by winning the first ever Women's Money In The Bank last Sunday, albeit controversially. However, she repaid the faith shown in her this Tuesday by cutting what was easily the best promo of her career.
'The Princess of Staten Island' has improved significantly since her NXT days and continues to impress on SmackDown Live. She is definitely one to watch over the coming months.
