8 Most Insane Things Happening In Wrestling Right Now (Feb 17)

6. John Cena Vs. The Miz. Really? Really?

Two of the most poorly received feature matches in the history of WrestleMania were Brock Lesnar Vs. Goldberg at WrestleMania XX and John Cena Vs. The Miz at WrestleMania XXVII - and we're getting sequels to both in April!

At this rate, we'll probably get a repeat of 'Mania XXV's Triple H Vs. Randy Orton in Orlando. Get well soon, Seth Rollins, for Christ's sake.

Now that the WWE Heavyweight Title picture is clear (in as much Cena has been removed from it, at least), so too is Cena's Road To WrestleMania. The rumoured mixed tag team match with Nikki Bella against Miz and Maryse looks nailed on. Cena and The Miz share an even more tiresome anti-chemistry than Cena and Orton, and while their rivalry isn't nearly as stale, it's somehow more dead. At The Bash in 2009, Cena might as well have been wrestling a mosquito in there. He wasn't so much weakened by Miz's offence as marginally irritated. With no build up whatsoever, he dispatched Miz with ease in just 05:39.

Their 2011 series wasn't much better. Their climactic pay-per-view "I Quit" encounter took place at Over The Limit, during which Cena handily waved away the combined threat of Miz, Alex Riley, and a kendo stick to triumph without barely dusting off his repertoire.

At Sunday's Elimination Chamber, Cena eliminated Miz after just one AA. That move has been so devalued that he might as well have fallen after an atomic drop. And yet, he's somehow a viable storyline opponent for Cena at the biggest show of the year.
