8 New Directions For New WWE Champion Bray Wyatt
6. Reunite With Erick Rowan
Erick Rowan has been sidelined with a torn rotator cuff since late summer, and underwent surgery in October. Originally pegged to miss four to six months of action, the latest reports suggest that he has had a full recovery and has finally returned to training. His comeback is imminent, and it couldn’t have come at a better time for Bray.
WWE have experimented with Rowan as a singles act before, and it was a rank failure. He’s a capable enforcer, but Rowan lacks the spark to make it on his own and has always looked lost at sea when separated from Wyatt. Frankly, he needs Bray, and Bray needs him at this point.
With Luke Harper out of the picture and Orton set to split, Wyatt is desperately low on allies. Rowan can return to television and realign with his master seamlessly, and while he shouldn’t have too big an impact on the WrestleMania match, Rowan will be a huge help throughout the Orton feud.
There’s a chance WWE might bring Rowan back as Harper’s tag team partner, but putting him and Bray back together makes more sense. Making this move in the next few weeks would add a new dimension to the forthcoming Wyatt vs. Orton feud, and give Orton yet another obstacle to overcome on the 'Road to WrestleMania'.
