8 New Directions For WWE After Payback 2016
4. Dean Ambrose To Start Winning
The running joke seems to be that Dean Ambrose doesn't win pay-per-view matches, but his record on big shows between last year's Payback and the 2016 edition suggests differently. The host of the Ambrose Asylum has a fairly 50/50 record in that time, winning six matches and coming up short in seven.
The problem lies however in the names of those he has defeated and those that have vanquished him. Ambrose has a good record against upper card guys like Kevin Owens, but put him in a main event situation against Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns or Triple H and he's likely to come up short.
This needs to change and soon, and last night may just prove the beginning of an upward curve for Ambrose. He defeated Chris Jericho clean as a whistle, and continue to be the most popular babyface on the roster. Triple H has also been singing his praises in interviews recently.
Expect Ambrose to continue his winning ways moving forward.
