Some fans who are not familiar with WCW may be scratching their heads at this moment. The name Bagwell surely sounds familiar to most, as Marcus Buff Bagwell was a longtime fixture in WCW and even had a brief appearance on WWE television at the beginning of the Invasion storyline. However, were not talking about Buff here. Instead, were talking about his mother Judy. Yes his mom. Judy is already somewhat famous as being featured as the prize during a contest between Buff and Kanyon. The infamous Judy Bagwell on a Forklift match was a spin on the classic flag/weapon/random object on a pole stipulation. However, many fans may not realize that this inane and insane contest was not Judys only claim to fame in WCW. At Halloween Havoc 1998, Rick Steiner and Buff Bagwell defeated the Giant and Scott Steiner for the WCW World Tag Team Championship. However, there was one major problem. Rick did all the work on his own, as Buff turned on him during the match and left. Later in the night, Buff would reveal that he had joined the New World Order. Rick was now in possession of the tag titles but was without a partner. WCW management allowed the Dog-Faced Gremlin to choose a new partner, and Rick initially chose Kenny Kaos -- yeah, no idea. However, the troubles werent over for Rick yet, as Kaos was injured shortly thereafter. Again, Rick was allowed to pick his tag team partner, and this time he went for a choice even more obscure than Kenny Kaos. As a psychological tactic, Steiner chose Buffs own mother, Judy Bagwell, as his co-champion. Surprisingly, Rick and Judy actually held onto the titles for a little over two months. Even more shocking, they never officially lost them. The duo was forced to vacate their gold straps after Rick Steiner was forced to leave the company for a time following an injury. Why Judy wasnt allowed to keep the gold and pick a new partner, herself, well never know.
