8 People Who Went Into WWE Hall Of Fame For The Wrong Reasons

1. Connor 'The Crusher' Michalek Is Inducted Under The "Warrior Award"

Disclaimer: NOT FOR A SECOND IS CONNOR'S PLACE IN THE WWE HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 2015 UNDER ANY DISPUTE! EVERYTHING THAT IS DUE TO TAKE PLACE THIS WEEKEND IN HIS MEMORY IS THE LEAST WWE COULD HAVE DONE FOR THE CRUSHER AND HIS FAMILY AND IS MORE THAN THROUGHLY DESERVED. Inventing a completely new award called the 'Connor Michalek Award' would have been a fitting tribute in its own right. However, the powers that be decided to induct The Crusher under the 'Warrior Award' title, the brainchild of last year's main inductee, the late Ultimate Warrior. Although in reality, Connor doesn't exactly fit the criteria when it comes to Warror's wishes for what the Warrior Award should be. During his emotional speech at last year's ceremony, Warrior put forward the idea of commemorating those people backstage and behind the scenes who are just as important as the people in the ring. He thought that the faces you never see should be acknowledged with an induction at the Hall Of Fame - everything from the guys who set up the ring every night to the seamstresses. Here's how he put it;
"I want to thank the people you never see. I'm talking about all the people behind the scenes here that work for WWE, some of them for years; 20, 25, 30 years. They are the superstars that make this happen. "They really are, the ring guys. Who back in the day would get to the building, set up the ring, tear it down, drive all night, get to the next town, get a couple of hours sleep, grab a cheeseburger, couple coca-colas, go back to another arena, set up the ring again right before the matches, go and take a shower. And then come and ask me or the other guys, can I get you anything? Is there anything I can get you, man. "I'll never forget those guys. "In fact, when I think about the hall of fame and I think about honouring people that make this company work. Thirtieth WrestleMania tomorrow, that's awesome. I was in four and I said the other day at the office to everybody, it's WrestleMania 30 but you're already working on 31 and you could damn sure bet WrestleMania 75 is going to happen when the founder of this company isn't even around any more. Well I better take that back, Vince is going to live forever. "But to be that dedicated and have this thing come that far, I think that it would be appropriate to have a category in the hall of fame where you honour these people."
The Warrior award was born. Connor doesn't really fit that criteria and he probably should have been inducted under a different banner instead of WWE piggybacking on what they actually wanted the Warrior award to be. In Connor's case, right person, wrong award.
