8 Predictions For WWE's UK Tournament Finals Night 2

1. Pete Dunne Takes The Title

United Kingdom Championship

Pete Dunne will be the name on everyone’s lips heading into tonight’s show, and that shouldn’t change by the time the show goes off the air. There’s nothing bold about picking him to win the tournament and Dunne is an incredibly easy choice to become the first WWE United Kingdom Champion, but his hype is entirely justifiable.

Dunne is one of the most naturally detestable heels in wrestling at the moment. It doesn’t matter where he works, The Bruiserweight has a deeply ingrained ability to turn a room against him. Whether through his brutally methodical wrestling style, heelish antics, or ominously cold-blooded promos, Dunne is a born villain, and a man perfectly positioned to takeover the wrestling world.

He, Trent Seven, and Tyler Bate have conquered PROGRESS as British Strong Style, but as potential finalists, Seven and Dunne will be on opposite sides of the alignment scale tonight. This means there’ll be no holding back from either man, and if they produce the kind of match they’re capable of, this could be a British wrestling classic.

The Cruiserweight Classic ended on a feelgood story with TJ Perkins’ triumph over adversity, but that likely won’t be the case here. If 2016 was the year Pete Dunne found his footing in the wrestling world, 2017 should be the year he takes flight. Very little stands between him and complete world domination, and it starts with the WWE United Kingdom Championship. As far as prospects go, he’s the biggest “sure thing” in the tournament, and an ideal antagonist for WWE to build their potential UK brand around.
