8 Reasons Why Today's WWE Raw Is WCW In Disguise
3. Underused Stars
Far from being a recent complaint on Raw is the underutilisation of certain guys who, quite frankly, deserve much better.
Cesaro is probably the first name that springs to mind in this kind of conversation, the very same Cesaro who’s been named Most Underrated by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter for four successive years. Currently, he finds himself firmly lodged in the tag team division, which isn’t necessarily a terrible place to be - but he’s certainly capable of much more.
Likewise, Sami Zayn—once the face of NXT and part of arguably the greatest title win in the history of the developmental territory—has been similarly marginalised in a spot unbefitting of his talents.
Compare these situations with those of the likes of Eddy Guerrero, Chris Benoit and Rey Mysterio, collectively dubbed the "vanilla midgets" by a certain former WCW booker, or Dean Malenko and the aforementioned Chris Jericho—hugely talented guys who never received the title opportunities they may well have deserved—and you’ve got yourself yet another parallel.
