3. No Heel Turn
Leading into this show one of the main talking points was if either Roman Reigns or Dean Ambrose would turn on the other and align themselves with Triple H and The Authority, The hope was that Reigns would be the one to embrace the dark side, with many feeling that a heel turn was exactly what he needed to spread his wings and continue developing as a performer, in much the same way that it benefited his cousin, The Rock. Despite those hopes, the pessimists among wrestling fans - an unfortunate majority it seems - felt that WWE would pull the trigger on making Dean the second member of The Shield to become a vile backstabber. While it would have probably failed miserably, WWE has shown a tendency to stubbornly forge ahead with their plans even in the face of massive resistance, and it wasn't hard to envision a program where top babyface Roman Reigns gets booed out of the building when wrestling a heel Ambrose. Instead we got neither man turning heel, and while that may be a good decision in the long run, it just feels like an another example of WWE playing it safe, a mindset that is plaguing the company. At this point it doesn't matter what they do as long as they do something, ANYTHING different. We just want to be surprised and engaged, not fed more of the uninspiring status quo. Had one of them turned, it would have at least given us a reason to tune into Raw for the next chapter in the story.
