8 Storylines That Will Revitalise WWE In The Second Half Of 2018

1. Brock Lesnar Losing The Title

Brock Lesnar has held the WWE Universal Championship for more than 450 days. The Beast Incarnate has vanquished everybody in his path since he won the belt from Goldberg, beating Roman Reigns on numerous occasions, silencing Samoa Joe and becoming one of the few competitors to have pinned Braun Strowman. With that said, his title reign is now deathly boring.

Without Lesnar on television, Raw has been without a top title and so it feels like a three-hour television programme in which its protagonist never appears. There's something to be said for the notion of Lesnar as a genuine box office attraction, giving the title meaning by only turning up when there's a reason behind it, but that lustre has faded over the course of almost 18 months with the belt.

In the second half of this year, though, Lesnar could well be set to lose the belt. Strowman has made his Money in the Bank intentions very clear and Reigns still considers himself to be the uncrowned champion after the controversial finish to their steel cage match at Greatest Royal Rumble. The chances are good that Lesnar will finally drop the title before the year is out, and it won't be a moment too soon.
