As talented of a team as Doug and Danny Basham were together, it was evident they had no future as singles stars in WWE. It was booking malpractice for them to ever be separated, but that's exactly what happened in the 2005 WWE Draft.

The duo had success on SmackDown early on in their run when they unseated Eddie and Chavo Guerrero as WWE Tag Team champions in late 2003. They later regained the gold while members of JBL's Cabinet faction, during which period they were prominently featured on the blue brand and scored plenty of television time.

Following the dissolution of the stable that summer, Danny was drafted to Raw in WWE's 2005 Draft Lottery for seemingly no reason when they could have easily instead being brought over to Monday nights as a unit.

That marked the beginning of the end of The Basham Brothers in the company. Danny's Raw run amounted to nothing while Doug was relegated to Velocity for the remainder of the year. They had a brief run on ECW in 2006 under masks as Paul Heyman's enforcers before being released at the onset of 2007.
