8 Terrible Excuses Adults Use To Justify Watching Wrestling

4. "You Just Have To Watch This One Match..."

Stop, don't do it. Don't show a friend who doesn't like wrestling your favourite match. It will break your heart. I have a bunch of favourite matches - HBK vs Undertaker at Wrestlemania 25, TLC II, CM Punk vs Brock Lesnar at Summerslam 2012, Steamboat vs Flair 2 out of 3 Falls - and I'm here to tell you that people just won't care, and then you'll hate them. Some part of you will hate them forever. A non-wrestling fan will almost definitely not grow to like wrestling just because they're sat in front of a great match, because they can't watch it neutrally. They haven't bought into it, they'll be picking out all the small errors and logical inconsistencies. It will drive you mad, and it's not even the point. Someone else liking wrestling doesn't excuse you liking wrestling. I love wrestling. Some of my friends do as well, most definitively do not, neither of which affects my enjoyment of a wrestling match. If how much you love something feels like it hinges on whether or not other people love it too, then maybe you don't love it all that much after all. Forcing your pals to watch your favourite match will only make watching your favourite match harder. Screw that.
