8 Things We Learned From Brock Lesnar's Revealing ESPN Interview
5. More On Why He Didn't Go Back To UFC
With Brock Lesnar's WWE contract set to expire just after this year's WrestleMania and rumours about him returning to the UFC for one final run, Roman Reigns beating him for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship seemed like a forgone conclusion. However, just days before the event, Brock revealed that he had signed a three year contract to stay put, and the news was music to the ears of wrestling fans. Asked again why he decided against returning to the Octagon, Brock explained that it ultimately came down to a lifestyle choice. Illness is what forced him out of the octagon the first time, and when he returned, he felt like he had been cheated out of fights promised to him. He then went on to talk about how well the WWE has treated him since his return in 2012, and how his current part-time schedule allows him to live the way he wants (talking about his initial WWE run, he again reiterated that it was the schedule which played a large role in his departure from the company). Brock also touched on his relationship with Vince McMahon, explaining that after being welcomed back by the chairman, they now see eye to eye and get on better than ever before despite some rough patches in the past. Throughout each of his SportsCenter interviews, Lesnar's love of the WWE was impossible to miss. So, while it's apparent that he doesn't regret not returning to UFC, Brock pointed out how grateful he is for the time he spent there as it allowed him to develop into the man he is today in the WWE and build his brand.
