2. Stop Putting On Pointless Matches
As bizarre as it sounds, given the huge gulf in popularity between modern wrestling and the Attitude Era, the in-ring action is better than ever. From a pure wrestling standpoint, the talent exhibited by current superstars such as Rollins, Cesaro and Neville is nothing short of phenomenal. The Divas division is unrecognisable when compared to itself ten years ago. But Raw could feature the best wrestlers in the world, all at the very top of their game, and still only come across as a fairly above-average show, so underwhelming is the way matches are put together. The vast majority of Raw matches these days are either far too short or blighted by a nonsensical finish. I'm not disputing the usefulness of screwy finishes - they're a great way to propel feuds along - but Raw swaps these for no contests far too often. A solution would be to take a step back, and ensure that matches are given the time and importance they deserve. All the extra stuff should take a backseat, including those long, rambling promos. Angles and interviews can be sprinkled here and there, but the focus of a wrestling show should always be the wrestling.
