I'm always surprised to hear who trains the superstars of today, especially those who are particularly accomplished within the ropes. Apollo Crews was trained by Mr Hughes, a man known (if at all) for a brief run as Chris Jericho's bodyguard in 1999 and various nothing feuds in the early 1990s. He was one of the token big men who challenged The Undertaker, stole his urn and subsequently lost it back. Hughes trains at the WWA4 school in Atlanta, and Crews isn't the only prominent name to come out of that particular dojo. Other names currently making waves out of the school are indie standout AR Fox, Ring of Honor future superstar Moose and Cody Hall, who has the unteachable skill of being Scott Hall's son.
Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
