8 Times Brock Lesnar Disrespected WWE

5. Squaring Up To The Undertaker At UFC 121

Was it a work or a shoot? Almost five years on and nobody can really say with any degree of certainty. What is known is that The Undertaker and Lesnar had a brief but tense altercation following Lesnar's loss to Cain Valasquez at UFC 121 on October 23rd 2010. The Dead Man (who was accompanied by wife Michelle McCool) was being interviewed at ringside when Lesnar wandered past. Stopping, 'Taker and Lesnar came face-to-face before the Demon of Death Valley offered 'You wanna do it?'. Lesnar, who had just received a real beating, walked off. The incident set social media alight. Did Lesnar and The Undertaker have legitimate heat? Was this all part of an angle to build towards a potential WrestleMania match? 'Taker apologised to UFC President Dana White after the incident while Lesnar claimed in interviews that he and The Phenom did have a legitimate issue ('something personal'). Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer reported in January 2014 that the confrontation had been staged by the two men in order to drum up interest in a potential match at WrestleMania XXVII in 2011. Lesnar must have known that this wasn't a possibility, however, since his UFC contract would preclude him from competing on the grandest stage of them all. So what was the point of this stunt? It's not like WWE could use the footage, since it was owned by UFC and showed The Undertaker out-of-character (something WWE has avoided showing since 2004). Either way, Lesnar looked disrespectful by squaring up to such an important locker room figure like that.
