8 Times Fighters Won When They Should Have Been DQ'd

2. Germaine De Randamie Repeatedly Strikes Holly Holm After The Bell

A fight for a UFC title is the pinnacle of a mixed martial artist's career. It represents the culmination of a lifetime of hard work, rising up the ranks and dispatching contenders all in order to earn the right to compete for UFC gold.

With all that in mind, when a fighter engages in some questionable actions during the course of a title fight, with the possibility of serious damage already compounded due to the longer length of the bout it is even more egregious.

So when Germaine de Randamie took on Holly Holm in a battle of elite strikers to determine the first UFC Women's Featherweight Champion, The Iron Lady would receive a torrent of abuse post-fight following her questionable actions in the cage.

During the end of both the second and third rounds, de Randamie continued to throw strikes after the bell had signified that the round had ended. One of these strikes visibly wobbled Holm and likely affected the outcome of the fight, but the referee decided not to take a point on either occasion.

De Randamie would ultimately take a controversial unanimous decision on the judges' scorecards, before being stripped of the belt after refusing to fight Cris Cyborg.
