8 Ups & 1 Down From Impact Wrestling (Jun 16)
4. Not Your Average Big Lads
On paper, you can more or less guarantee the sort of match Moose vs. Hernandez is going to be. Two behemoths taking chunks out of one another, maybe with the odd surprise or two. Now, take that piece of paper, scrunch it up, and toss it out the window, as 'Mr Impact Wrestling' and 'Supermex' did the exact opposite here. They were tossing each other about the ring like they were facing X division stars.
Dropkicking each other with impressive height off the ground for guys of their stature, Hernandez straight up chokeslamming the defending TNA World Heavyweight Champion, and an inventive low blow variation from Moose all made for one hell of a match. A No Jackhammer Needed spear ensured Moose moved towards Slammiversary with the title still around his waist, continuing the legacy of Hernandez never capturing the top title of the company that put him on the map.
A lovely match here that further cemented Moose as the top dog in Impact Wrestling, pinning yet another TNA original. With a snippet of EC3's theme playing post-match, perhaps we have confirmation on the next challenger to 'Mr Impact Wrestling's' most prized possession.
Unless, of course, it was a production botch. Could you imagine?
